Who we are
Our team is comprised of experienced music educators, talented musicians, skilled sound engineers, accomplished composers, and innovative producers. With a strong presence in Canton Tessin and an expanding global reach, we pride ourselves on offering a diverse array of musical opportunities for students of all ages and skill levels.
Our Mission
The Association “International Music Institute in Ticino” is a growing private non-profit music institute in Canton Tessin, with locations in Montagnola, Lugano, Cadempino, Astano, Savosa, and Stabio. Founded in 2024, it evolved from the previous “Scuola di Musica Collina d’Oro” with the mission of spreading musical education and promoting cultural growth in Tessin. Our goal is to develop the aesthetic sense of both children and adults by instilling a love and passion for music. The administration of the school is overseen by a Committee composed of teachers and supporters, ensuring transparent management of the school’s resources. This allows us to offer competitive course rates and maximize investment in the school’s activities. Our courses are open to all ages and levels.
Distant villages
Lugano, especially the city center, is filled with music schools and various institutes where you can study music. But what about the neighbouring villages? Over the past years, we have received numerous feedback from clients about the challenging traffic conditions in Lugano, particularly during after-school hours when students need to reach their music lessons. Due to the limited time and the difficulty of navigating heavy traffic, many parents are discouraged from enrolling their children in music courses, or they simply can’t find a practical way to reach the music schools without losing too much time in transit. Our music school aims to provide a solution for these families by opening new branches in the surrounding villages. For the next school year, we are planning to open new subsidiaries of our music school around Lugano to make music education more accessible and convenient. We will also continue to offer online education for families who find it the most convenient way to study.
Adult students
We encourage parents and grandparents to participate and enroll in our courses! We use specially developed materials for adult and senior students. Many people study music as children but give it up for various reasons, only to regret it later in life and wish to start again. Additionally, there are adults and seniors who have always wanted to learn an instrument but never had the chance or time. Our courses cater to both groups, providing a fulfilling opportunity to pursue their musical passions.
Municipal Contribution
Some of the municipalities in the Lugano area grant a partial contribution to families with children, as an educational support of the costs of the music courses. Each family is invited to check with their own municipality their policy of this subsidy. We think, it is important that the municipal authorities support your efforts in the musical education of your children.
